My Christmas bedroom decor is part of Christmas Home Tour Week! Every day this week I have been going through the tour going gaga over everyone else’s home. (See my holiday tour of my downstairs here!):
The fabulously organized Krista at The Happy Housie put together this year’s Season’s Simplicity Hop and it might be the best yet. Please go check out the tours listed at the bottom of my post when you are done! And if you are coming from my friend Amy’s (seriously) beautiful blogpost sharing her home, hello!
Christmas Bedroom Decor: Keeping It Simple
We have some Christmas bedroom decor for the very first time this year! Even though I walked you through it on video with Instagram (follow along here!) not once but twice this week, I am still so excited to share it on my blog! I don’t know WHY we never brought the magic of the holidays into our own room before now!
I started taking photos myself and was interrupted when kids came inside from playing, ready for snacks and entertainment. So when my photographer was here last week, I just had her take the rest of the photos for me. If you see a little variation, let’s blame it on the kids! 😉
The master bedroom is always at the bottom of the priority list, isn’t it? But it shouldn’t be that way – it really should be the other way around. We are always going to move some Christmas decor into our bedroom going forward.
I hope this post inspires you to give your own bedroom a little love this Christmas!
Don’t feel pressure that Christmas decor has to be all or nothing- keep it easy for yourself. I really am just a fan of simple and classic decor- with Christmas, but also with everything else.
I just love to keep things looking easy. Sometimes that’s the most beautiful.
My husband was the one who asked for me to put a tree in our room!
I set our flocked tree all up as a surprise for him one night when he was out with our boys at a Duke football game in early November. When he got back, I can’t tell you happy he was. There is something so gratifying about a lit Christmas tree in the beginning of the season.
For some reason I cannot move on from white bedding. I’ve always seen those fluffy holiday red checked duvet covers puffed up at the end of beds in the Pottery Barn stores. Maybe next year that will be my bed!
I went and looked at them and even though I loved them…it’s hard for me to commit to red! I’m not much of a red person. I don’t use it in my home decor or rarely wear it.
That blush red pillow is a Home Good finds. I bought it in August knowing I wouldn’t want to use it until Christmas.
An easy idea is to throw something above your bed for Christmas! A string of bulb lights over frames you might have up there. If you have an empty wall above your bed, throw up some faux greenery like a wreath.

Kids’ Christmas Bedroom Decor
And now let’s head over to my oldest son’s room. He asked for a little Christmas too when he saw our tree. Actually, what he asked for specifically was Christmas lights in his bedroom. I used to love sleeping under the glow of twinkly lights as a child! Something comforting and soothing.
I was originally thinking of putting Christmas lights in his bedroom by curling them around his spindles, but then I thought of creating this little decoration for above his bed.
Did you see my tutorial for making this hanging birch log? It was so easy and makes a big statement!
I love his sheets. If Pottery Barn Kids sheets are too over the top for your taste (I liked them but thought this would last him longer), try Pottery Barn. These just got put on clearance sale!
I am so glad you stopped by! I hope you found something you loved here. Now go visit my friend Krista with her gorgeous home tour! Make sure you pop into all these other homes as well so you can oooh and ahh.
