Christmas Bedroom Decor: Keeping It Simple
We have some Christmas bedroom decor for the very first time this year! I don’t know WHY we never brought the magic of the holidays into our own room before now!
I started taking photos myself and was interrupted by children who also live here and call me mom. 😉 So when my photographer was here last week, I just had her take the rest of the photos for me. There is a little variation in the photos.
The master bedroom is always at the bottom of the priority list, isn’t it? But it shouldn’t be that way – it really should be the other way around. We are always going to move some Christmas decor into our bedroom going forward.
I hope this post inspires you to give your own bedroom a little love this Christmas!
Don’t feel pressure that Christmas decor has to be all or nothing- keep it easy for yourself. I really am just a fan of simple and classic decor- with Christmas, but also with everything else.
I just love to keep things looking easy. Sometimes that’s the most beautiful.
My husband was the one who asked for me to put a tree in our room!
I set our flocked tree all up as a surprise for him one night when he was out with our boys at a football game in early November. When he got back, I can’t tell you happy he was. There is something so gratifying about a lit Christmas tree in the beginning of the season.
Our flocked tree is prelit and we’ve had it for 3 years now – I think when you go flocked you should always do the prelit if you can. It sounds real messy trying to string lights onto a flocked tree!
It’s hard for me to commit to red – so just a pop on this pillow and our usual white bedding was enough. That pillow is an affordable down filled Home Good find! I bought it in August knowing I wouldn’t want to use it until Christmas!
An easy idea is to throw something above your bed for Christmas! A string of bulb lights over frames you might have up there. If you have an empty wall above your bed, throw up some faux greenery like a wreath.

Kids’ Christmas Bedroom Decor
And now let’s head over to my oldest son’s room. He asked for Christmas lights in his bedroom when he saw our tree. I used to love sleeping under the glow of twinkly lights as a child! Something comforting and soothing.
I was originally thinking of putting Christmas lights in his bedroom by curling them around his spindles, but then I thought of creating this little decoration for above his bed.
Did you see my tutorial for making this hanging birch log? It was so easy and makes a big statement!
Holiday Sheets
Holiday sheets are the EASIEST and most minimal way to bring the holidays into a bedroom – especially for kids who love this kind of stuff! These Christmas tree car sheets I put on his bed are mature enough to work for a guest room etc., but if you prefer to spend less I found a look alike “save option” that I was considering too…

Although I love Pottery Barn holiday sheets, they come with a price tag so I try to grab them when on sale. Here are some other classic holiday sheets :
