Sharing my blue and green living room ready for fall!
Don’t you love peeking into other people’s homes to see how they are decorating? I love a good home tour – and today I am sharing my living room cozied up for fall.

This year I was inspired by my interior designer girl friend Molly, of Molly Basile Interiors out of Charleston (highly recommend if you live down that way!) to use blues and greens. Her spaces have a coastal, fresh vibe, but she also uses a lot of color and I adore her work!
So, welcome!
Mixing Green and Blue Together In a Living Room
With our current state of life being so different right now, I was craving comfort – coziness – and beauty. But I like simplicity – we wanted decor that would last us through the holiday season (and possibly beyond). I love using blue, and adding green to the living room felt like it would stay seasonal past Christmas.
This is why they say to keep your main pieces neutral- so you can switch it up with fresh pillows and accessories. Which is exactly what I did here, while trying to stay true to my love of classic design, and staying away from too many knick knacks that wouldn’t “belong” in here as seasons changed.
The Mantel Decor
Green was easy to mix into our coastal decor. Plus those magnolia leaves… can you tell which ones are real and which ones are fake?
Those larger magnolia leaves shown above in the dipped vase are the faux and I snagged them off Amazon! These are currently sold out but the same brand makes a magnolia stem with a flower.
If you have a love for blue and white jars, try popping in a magnolia stem.
Update: We recently replace our ugly televisions with 2 Frame TVs and they were a game changer for the look of the house! Read about putting a Frame TV over the fireplace here, or read a full review of the Samsung Frame TV here (we love it but it’s not for everyone!).
Bette Midler is up on the screen because nothing is more classic than Hocus Pocus, a family favorite this time of year… but really because she looks a lot better than a big black box.
Blue and Green Throw Pillows
Something Molly suggested was picking out double of each pillow. Usually I like to use just one pillow of each pattern. This might be the world’s most obvious “tip”– but use pairs of pillows for a more intentional and balanced look on your couch.
Zion was just waiting for me to kick him off the couch again.
I bit the bullet, followed Molly’s suggestion and brought in each pillow in pairs.
I LOVE how it came together. This velvet pillow is older (similar and budget friendly version here), and the other beauties are stunning Serena & Lily pillows (blue and moss with tassels, and my green and crisp white pillow). I have an addiction to Serena & Lily’s pillows and no intention of stopping!
How cute is that antelope pillow? It’s a beautiful neutral/tan, and I love it mixed with the Schumacher pillow behind it. Our blue rug is indoor/outdoor and the color looks fun and fresh!
I repeated pillows again on our entry bench – so the rooms tie in together.

Living Room Accessories
That gorgeous Cabot console combining cane, white and brass is an old favorite that was previously hiding between the sofa and the windows.
I swung it around here so my horse sized dog would stop his habit of sailing over our sofa back. Now we get to see the pretty console and enjoy it!
It’s great to feel like my love for coastal fresh decor can still be classic at the holidays. If you decorate with a lot of blue and white, try mixing blue and green in your living room as you head into fall and the holiday time!
Lastly, that blue and white buffalo check blanket is my favorite “deal” I found this fall. I couldn’t make up my mind if I should splurge on this gorgeous Anthro blanket, when I found an exact look alike on Amazon. If this was a gift, I would choose the Anthro blanket. For a fall accessory, I went with the look alike throw at a fraction of the price!

These are great tips for making your home feel warm and cozy for fall without having to use fall leaves and pumpkins everywhere.
This is random, but I noticed Hocus Pocus on the TV. Did you know they are coming out with Hocus Pocus 2?
Your home is absolutely stunning! I enjoyed every detail. And Zion is a cutie!
It all looks beautiful! Love the color palette against all of the white and the color of your front door. And your dog is so adorable!
