Christmas Home Tour: Living & Kitchen Christmas Decor

Sharing is caring!

I love coming up with new ways to decorate each season, and I am so excited to be a part of this 2019 Christmas Home Tour. I hope you find lots of inspiration!!

Welcome To Our Christmas Home Tour

Welcome! Come ON in! Let’s start at the front door!

Although it’s called a home tour, I am sharing our porch, entry, living room and kitchen Christmas decor.

Foyer Christmas Decorations

Our demi wreath up on the window is EVERYTHING! With all the light from the window you can’t see it’s true beauty. Update: This sells out before mid November every year, so if you want it, snag it while it’s in stock!

There is a reason it sells out! The little house lights up, and there are big stars along the greenery with actual bottle brush trees. I took off the red felt bow it came with and replaced it with a $5 gold bow just to be extra! I can see this wreath looking magical at night in a child’s bedroom, too.

Get The Look:

We have collected quite a few Christmas trees over the year, especially in my blogging years. This tree was just able to squeeze into the entry nook! It actually is a prelit tree that came with 500 lights, but our pup chewed through the lights and the wire (!). I kept the tree decorations super simple with just some bead strands and a few wooden and gold ornaments.

Christmas Living Room Decor

I struggle decorating my mantel because we built our home so that we could put the television above it. I regret that decision every holiday! I tried to take attention off the big ugly black box by creating a super thick and lush garland that runs underneath.

You can see more photos and read the tutorial on what I used and how I hung this garland here! It was a fun and surprisingly quick project!

I put flameless battery operated wax candles that come on/off daily on a timer behind the garland – I just used a mix of these from Pottery Barn, and these candles from Amazon which are equally as good. The PB candles even smell like a vanilla candle!

I love walking in here in the evening and having the candles on, and then turn off at the end of the evening all by themselves.

Our Realistic Tree:

Kitchen Christmas Decor

Our kitchen and living room are essentially part of the same room. The garland over the fireplace was SO thick, that I kept the kitchen Christmas decor fairly simple this year.

After we moved the dining room table into the breakfast nook, our pendant light is off centered. I haven’t yet decided how to address this (another light is always an option, but I want to be sure!) so for now, we are living with the light over half the table!

Red dishtowels bring a pop of holiday color that stands out. You don’t need to be fancy or elaborate or specifically holiday themed. Sometimes just bringing in some green and red look classic and best!

Christmas Bathroom Decor Ideas

Lastly, I’m taking you into our downstairs bathroom because I could not figure out how to decorate this tiny space best. I had all kinds of christmas bathroom decor ideas, but everything seemed too much for a small space. I do love a crisp white with deep green, so I knew we were bringing in greenery. But how? I didn’t want a garland in the here.  And I have to be careful with candles.

In the end, I thought a medium sized wreath over the toilet, a Christmas towel and a faux potted tree transformed the small bathroom with a little Christmas magic.
