Our outdoor furniture ideas and the plan to beautify the deck this spring.
The inside of our home might be the showpiece of our current renovation, but if designed right, the charming upper deck will be artwork in the living room windows! Surrounded by greenery and privacy with big southern columns, it’s our future sanctuary for relaxation.

Deck Facelift
>> Update: I finished and revealed our outdoor deck – it’s all in this post here! Come see!<<
Before we get to the outdoor furniture ideas (the fun part), this poor old deck needs some work!
- The wood floor is getting stained a light color
- The tongue and groove ceiling is my least favorite color… red! This is getting painted match the brick (Sherwin Williams Alabaster, more on that here).
- Original-to-the-home ceiling fans were replaced with two of these beauties (highly recommend. Powerful and silent.)
Deck Asthetic and The Outdoor Furniture Ideas
Update: See The Final Deck Reveal In This Post Here. Serena & Lily was equally excited about the potential this space has, and they are graciously sponsoring our back deck dreams. Their outdoor pieces are made to look like indoor furniture in such a way that can’t be replicated. As usual, their casual but refined aesthetic is right in line with our goals.

Lounge Area
I was torn between both the texture and clean lines of the Pacifica sofa, but also the beauty and relaxed feel of the Sundial sofa. We decided to combine both in the form of two chairs and a sofa!
We picked out the Pacifica sofa in the warmth of the Light Dune color. I choose the Perennials Basketweave Chalk fabric for the cushion covers, a stain-resistant performance fabric. The cushions are removable for cleaning.

Instead of matching with the Pacifica Swivel Chairs, we are mixing it up with two Sundial outdoor swivel chairs, again in the Perennials Basketweave Chalk. The deck is away from the yard’s foot traffic, but with 4 always barefoot kids and a dog, the Chalk seems like the smart decision.

We will bring the Boonville coffee table out here that we loved so much in our last living room. This is an investment piece that is striking in a room – I can’t wait to use it again! It’s washable and a solid, heavy piece.
These are the pillows for the space:
Dining Area
We are so excited about the Terrace Round Table in white on white. This is made from stone with small imperfections that will lend itself well with our… uh… lived in lifestyle. The chairs I am using here are the Pacifica dining chairs in Light Dune with coastal blue cushions. We used two of these chairs on the patio in our last house and loved them! They held up so well, even through the winter.
Despite the space being covered, I am using their protective covers on everything to care for our investment during the off season.
Pieces are already arriving – everything except the Sundial chairs (made to order) are currently in stock and arrive quickly! I’ll be sharing lots more photos and adding a link here. We are looking forward to using our deck on hot summer days and warm nights!
