Our Outdoor Deck Reveal

Sharing is caring!

I am sharing our newly furnished deck with you, complete with two seating areas. This pretty deck was a big selling feature of our home, and we filled it with loved pieces we already owned, an antique favorite, and new Serena & Lily outdoor furniture. Below is the before from when the house was for sale:

The Furniture Design Plan

I appreciated the former owners’ design placement. One space dedicated for lounging, and a space for sitting formally. But instead of iron, we envisioned classic outdoor white and rattan furniture on this deck, using Serena & Lily outdoor furniture. Casual enough for family life with all our kids, and still refined so that I am proud of the space!

Outdoor Furniture from Serena & Lily

Serena & Lily graciously worked with me on this design project. They offer sturdy performance fabrics I trust, and the aesthetic I envisioned.

All specific links + information (paint colors) are linked throughout and again at the bottom of the post.

Pacifica Sofa

For lounge seating outside we selected the comfortable Pacifica sofa in Dune, a warm rattan, with the Perennials fabric in Chalk. Chalk is white, but less crisp than a true white. This performance fabric is heavy duty, resistant to stains, and at the end of the season we will use its’ protector.

Sundial Chairs

Two upholstered Sundial swivel chairs also in the Chalk add a soft feel. I sometimes dislike swivels with kids (unless you enjoy turning chairs around all day?), but being out on the deck the chairs are disturbed less.

Boonville Coffee Table

These newest additions compliment our old favorite table, the Boonville coffee table. Here’s a tip: the Boonville is hollow, so slide your accessories under for long term storage.

Although expensive, it will be with you forever: read my take on the Boonville table in our living room here. Or, see more of the Boonville coffee table inside in our previous living room here.

The Terrace Round Table & Pacifica Dining Chairs: Serena & Lily Outdoor Dining

our deck in the fall

We repeated the rattan and used four Pacifica dining chairs in light dune, with a Performance fabric in Coastal Blue.

We selected the Terrace Round Dining Table for dining, made of reconstituted stone. Be aware reconstituted stone is like using marble. The stone is naturally porous, and will absorb stains like wine off the bottom of a bottle. The color will also patina with time.

We’ll use coasters and our placemats. This isn’t a dinner spot – but Jose and I can enjoy wine together or with friends, or work outside. We have the weatherproof protectors for each of these new investments and will use them this winter.

  1. I love love love the sundial chairs, especially is blue stripe, but even at 30% off today 4 of them aren’t in my budget sadly. Have you come across any similar less expensive alternatives? Thx!
