Lake House Seating Picks

I’ve been busy picking out chairs for a spot in our lake house! My style for the lake house is relaxed – I want a lived-in feel, with a color pallet of whites and light neutrals layered with dark and warm wood tones. Not too traditional or too modern – I am looking at classic furniture —to create a gathering space that feels like home!
Our living room has a post card view of the lake and sunset. Currently it has a small round table positioned to capture the view, making it a favorite spot for everyone. Since this is a vacation home, I saw this as an opportunity where someone could work on a puzzle, sip coffee, or complete a 10 minute computer task – all while enjoying that with a beautiful view.

First, I picked the Barkley Wicker/Rattan Slat Back Side Chair. These chairs are sold as a set! Made of darker rattan, it has a high back but open sides, so it doesn’t overwhelm a small space. Nancy Meyers might use these chairs in a film! They lean just a little traditional but it still feels updated and fresh.
My second choice was the Bungalo Upholstered Armchair by Kelly Clarkson Home in the color honey. This chair has a woven rattan back that’s my favorite – and low-profile arms to slide under a table or desk. These leans just a little beachy and light! The cushion’s cotton upholstery makes it comfortable enough without sacrificing that firm, upright feel, ideal for focused tasks.
