Create A Winter Bedroom
Have you ever seen a style or a design that made your heart beat faster, and you thought how much you love love loved it, but you felt overwhelmed by it all so you did nothing? Or you thought… only other people can pull off trends like that in their house? Stop doing that!
I talked about how we loved having the bench at the end of the bed so much for seating (and for pillows at the end of the day). I now have 2 places to sit – we added a chair in the corner! It’s good to have your style evolve over time. Editing and adding onto this room instead is giving it a more layered, collected feel.

I picked out four pieces from the Joss & Main Winter Edit to create my winter bedroom… and I’m loving the warmth and coziness just a few pieces add!
1. Create Cozy
I started with this striped moody gray throw blanket to toss across the end of my bed to bring in a darker color into my room.
I often will sit on my bed when it’s made during the day without actually getting in the bed, so a cozy throw to curl up in sounded about right. It has a delicate tassel detail on the end.
2. Create Warmth
Next I thought about what to put above my bed to highlight the space and create some warmth. I moved our black and white photos and replaced them with this double brass sconce! A winter bedroom needs a lot of warmth- and the brass works well as a contrast to all the black I have going on in here.
Forget about hardwiring sconces! Using the magic puck light trick (insert a puck light with a remote inside the sconce, instead of hardwiring the light!), we now have a cozy warm light shining over our bed.
The sconce also comes in an oil rubbed bronze, but I like the warmth of the brass agains the black and white wallpaper. Try a sconce by your bed – the soft light will welcome you in!
3. Create Comfort
In the corner I wanted maximum coziness so I brought in this wide arm chair, also from Joss and Main’s Winter Edit. You guys, it is LARGE. As in lounge back, cross your legs, plenty of room large. It is a great price! My husband is big on “all things must be the most comfortable ever”, so I presented this chair like it was a gift to him.
It feels like a lux hotel room, to have such a comfortable club chair in our bedroom.
