The Kitchen Reno Updates

Sharing is caring!

We are moving finally past demo with our kitchen progress! Really it’s been just in the past few weeks that the kitchen started to take shape and I can see the home we envisioned.

Our cabinets (Crystal Cabinets) are up! They took a week for install. The color is a creamy off-white factory finish; bizarrely enough called Frosty White.

The photo below is the same view as above, taken last summer. The wall with the narrow doorway and square pass-through window came down and a large arch went up. Millwork is currently getting installed along the sides of that pretty arch!

The glass cabinets on either side of the breakfast table are arriving in June.

There is so much to be said for working with local companies that are part of the community! We worked with Kitchen and Bath Galleries out of North Hills to come up with the cabinet plan and they handle installation. They feel like family at this point!

See this drawing coming to life:

Unlacquered brass hardware arrived from Classic Brass.

As soon as I picked them up I was so glad I splurged. They are heavy, and you can customize the coining or roping, etc.

Bocchi fireclay work station sink is in! This sinks comes with a colander and cutting board that sit inside and rest of the sink’s lip.

And don’t let me forget this fun little spot! Those are dog bowls for Zion, ready to be dropped in. Our cabinet installers will cut a hole and our marble fabricators will drop marble on top and behind it.

Timeline To The Finish Line

I’m hesitant to write down any timeline for fear it will all go to you-know-what, but herringbone floors are in the next few weeks, and countertops are scheduled.

So what’s the next project after this, or will we chill out and let life settle? Our whole family wants to get back to normal life before I can even think about the next big project.

  1. I just had white oak hardwood installed and I love the color of the raw wood. I sure don’t want a stain in it! Tell me what to tell my installer to put on the floors after sanding that will keep them like they are now. Thanks Debbie deviese
