We’ve been in our new house a week! Half of the rooms are empty – mattresses on the floor – and flattened boxes are piled up in the garage. We thought it would be best to have one room fixed up with simple budget pieces, a “haven” for us, while we tackle these major renovations all over the house.
This turned out to be the basement den. We aren’t ready to renovate the basement this year (except for paint and lighting!) so this was a great place to make cozy.
I grabbed some pillows, blankets, books, a hand made vase and name brand faux flowers all from marshalls.com! They offer everyday value and was a great place to shop find an incredible selection of high-quality pieces at nice prices.
This oversized 15 inch handmade vase (similar here) is beautiful and was such a good price. I picked out 2 sets of faux flowers as well. The coffee table book collection at Marshalls has amazing prices – lower than what regular retail costs. I grabbed More Beautiful and the big Architectural Digest book. And across the sofa we threw a genuine sheepskin rug, also from marshalls.com.

It took no time and a small budget, and now we are enjoying our cozy den while the rest of our house is chaos.
