We love to make our kids a smoothie for breakfast, because in our minds it makes up for all the other crap they stuff themselves with the rest of the day! This 5 minute smoothie is my favorite because the oats give a breakfast taste to it, and it fills them up!
Bananas add sweetness so make sure you are putting in a large one. If you aren't using chia seeds yet, you should consider it! They're basically magic for constipated kids! ;) We like the Costco sized bag because we go through a lot in our smoothies, but you could use a smaller bag and toss over oatmeal or yogurt.
I bought a refurbished Blentec 2 years ago and it was a great decision. The best part is clean up- afterwards I drop soap and water in it and press pulse for 5 seconds, then rinse it out. We haven't had any issues and for smoothies its been a game changer!

I mix sweetened almond milk in this for my kids, but for myself I make it with just cold water! I dislike a super sweet smoothie, so this tastes better to me.
