Can you guess which one of these are fake, and which ones are real?
We wanted some greenery in our house, but I just killed some cacti, and between the 4 kids + the dog I don't need another living thing with needs, no matter how small! The only real plants here are the two biggest plants you see! I linked everything else at the bottom of the post if you are interested.
We went to Lowes for our real plants because you can return them if they die in the first 90 days, with no receipt. We picked up the dragon plant and the ZZ plant there. Both are "low maintenance", which translates to "fairly needy" in my book. But the zz plant doesn't like direct sunlight so thats a win right there.
I have embraced faux succulents in this season of my life. They actually do look super real, especially if you want to take the time to put real dirt or rocks underneath (I didn't). Plants I don't recommend that are faux: flowers (a dusting nightmare and they rarely look real) and that ivy that used to be popular to put on top of cabinetry. Just stop that. Major dust collector and minimal is better.
I put the faux cactus in my son's room. He still thinks its real and won't touch it. I spread the little plants out in bathrooms and bookshelves.
How cute are these pots!
Just something simple in the bathrooms.
Embrace that brown, wilted thumb! Faux is the way to go! Links are below, or pin + come back later.
